How to start learning Arabic for kids?

Arabic learning for children should be structured, fun, and engaging. The more interactive and immersive the approach, the more naturally they progress without forced effort. The key is to expose them to the language early, focusing on listening and active practice rather than rote memorization.

  • Start with the Arabic alphabet – Recognizing and pronouncing letters correctly builds a strong foundation.
  • Use playful and immersive methods – Games, visual aids, and storytelling make learning enjoyable.
  • Introduce vocabulary gradually – Words and phrases should be learned in a clear context to reinforce understanding.
  • Encourage listening and repetition – Exposure to native pronunciation helps develop accurate and fluent articulation.

With the right structure and consistent practice, learning Arabic becomes an exciting journey where each step builds confidence and fluency.

Takallam! program

What is the best Arabic app for learning to speak?

Apps like Duolingo, Memrise, and Anki can be useful for building vocabulary and getting familiar with Arabic pronunciation. They offer interactive exercises that make learning engaging and accessible.

However, these tools have their limitations. They introduce words and phrases but don’t provide real-time correction or authentic conversation practice. As a result, learners risk developing mistakes without realizing it, slowing down their progress.

Speaking a language requires human interaction, immediate feedback, and the ability to adapt speech to different contexts. That’s why structured courses with native teachers remain the most effective way to build true fluency and confidence in spoken Arabic.

Al Kaamil Program

Can I study this program as a private course?

The “Al Kaamil” program can be studied in private lessons, according to your preferences and needs.

However, it is important to take into account the differences between private lessons and group lessons before making your choice.

Cours Privés Cours Collectifs
Exercice de groupe
Bilan automatique

It is essential to choose the format that best suits your priorities and needs.

If you're looking for more support and want to reach your goals more quickly, group lessons are a great option.

On the other hand, if you need more time and your schedule is limited, private lessons may be the solution.

✔️ Hifz → Memorization

✔️ Mouraja3a → Review
✔️ Ahkam → Tajweed rules.

Children's program

What age should kids learn Arabic?

There is no perfect age to start learning Arabic. Children as young as 4 to 6 years old can begin their journey, benefiting from their natural ability to absorb languages through engaging and interactive methods.

But learning has no limits. Teenagers and adults can achieve just as much success, as long as the teaching approach is tailored to their pace and needs.

In the end, age doesn’t matter. What truly makes the difference is motivation, commitment, and consistency. This is what turns every effort into real progress.

Quran programs

How to easily learn the Quran?

The key to learning the Quran easily is consistency and structure. Many learners struggle not because the Quran is difficult, but because they lack a clear method and proper guidance.

Avoid jumping from one resource to another. Choose one approach and stick to it. Progress comes when your efforts are focused and organized.

Avoid trying to memorize before knowing how to read. This leads to errors that become hard to unlearn.

Do not rely solely on your ear. Imitating reciters without understanding the rules leads to confusion. Proper recitation requires knowledge, not just repetition.

Do not delay seeking help. A qualified teacher corrects what you cannot notice yourself and keeps you on track.

The more disciplined and focused your path, the smoother your journey becomes. With the right support and sincere effort, learning the Quran becomes a stable and rewarding routine.

Quran programs

How do I teach myself the Quran?

Learning the Quran on your own may seem possible at first. With motivation and consistency, you might advance step by step.

But the truth is, without guidance, most learners end up building habits based on mistakes. And in the Quran, a small error in recitation can change the meaning of the words of Allah ﷻ.

Reading, listening, and repeating are valuable tools, but they are not enough to ensure accuracy.

Even with the best intentions, self-teaching often leads to reciting with hidden faults that go uncorrected.

That is why having a qualified teacher is essential.

It allows you to learn with precision, correct your pronunciation from the start, and preserve the integrity of the Quranic text as it was revealed.

Rather than struggling alone, choose a path that protects your recitation and strengthens your connection to the Book of Allah ﷻ.

At Al Kunuz, we help you do just that, from the comfort of your home.

Can I learn Arabic for free?

Yes, there are many free resources online, such as apps, websites, and YouTube channels, which help introduce the basics of Arabic.

However, these tools lack real-time correction, interaction, and structured progression. Learning on your own can lead to bad habits and mistakes that become harder to fix over time.

For effective progress, a structured course provides a solid learning path, personalized support, and expert feedback to prevent these challenges.

Children's program

Can I read the Quran on my phone without wudu?

Yes, it is permissible to read the Quran from a phone or tablet without being in a state of wudu.

This is the position of many scholars from Ahl al-Sunnah, including Cheikh Ibn Baz, Cheikh Ibn ‘Uthaymin, and The Permanent Committee for Scholarly Research and Ifta (Al-Lajnah Ad-Dā’imah lil-Buḥūth al-‘Ilmiyyah wa al-Iftā’) of Saudi Arabia.

They clarify that the digital display of the Quran does not carry the same ruling as the physical Mushaf, which requires wudu to be touched.

Cheikh Ibn Baz رحمه الله said:

“There is nothing wrong with reading the Quran from memory or from a phone without wudu, because the phone is not like the Mushaf.”
(Majmou’ Fatawa Ibn Baz, vol. 10, p. 150)

Cheikh Ibn ‘Uthaymin رحمه الله stated:

“If the Quran is on a mobile device, then there is no harm in touching it without wudu, because the letters do not appear fixed — they appear and disappear.”
(Liqa Bab al-Maftouh, n° 234)

That said, it is recommended to be in a state of purity out of respect for the words of Allah ﷻ, especially when reciting aloud or memorizing.

Reading the Quran, even on a device, should always be done with reverence, humility, and presence of heart.

How do I know which Arabic dialect to learn?

Choosing the right form of Arabic depends on your goals, but Arabic Literary (Modern Standard Arabic) remains the best choice for broad communication and long-term success.

🔹 Arabic Literary is understood across the Arabic-speaking world. It enables you to communicate with a wide audience, read classical texts, and navigate various professional, academic, or religious contexts.

🔹 Dialects, on the other hand, vary from country to country. They are useful for local interactions but can limit your ability to communicate beyond a specific region.

By starting with Arabic Literary, you build a strong foundation that allows you to explore dialects later on. It’s the smartest investment for mastering Arabic in the long run.

Can I learn Arabic by myself?

Yes, but with limitations. Apps and books can help you get started, but without correction, mistakes become ingrained and harder to fix. Inaccurate pronunciation, repeated grammar errors, and a lack of real interaction all slow progress and often lead to frustration.

Arabic is a precise language that requires structured guidance to be mastered properly. That’s why we’ve designed specialized programs, with expert teachers who correct mistakes, provide guidance, and ensure steady improvement.

Learn with a solid method. Move forward with confidence.

In what language do the courses take place?

Classes take place exclusively in literary Arabic. We are convinced of the benefits of immersion and have developed our controlled immersion method.

Researchers at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) have shown that “immersion learning creates brain connections similar to those of native speakers. However, it is essential that the audio material be authentic, that is, from people whose mother tongue is native.” (Journal of Cognitive Neuroscience — M.I.T).

To effectively learn the Arabic language, it is therefore crucial to immerse yourself in this language in the company of a native speaker.

Can I learn spoken Arabic from YouTube?

YouTube can be a great starting point to listen to Arabic and pick up a few expressions. But when it comes to speaking fluently, the platform has its limits.

Watching videos is a passive way to learn—you can’t interact, ask questions, or receive corrections. Without real conversation practice, building confidence and fluency is challenging. Repeating phrases from a video isn’t the same as structured learning with a teacher who can guide you and correct your mistakes.

To truly speak Arabic, you need consistent practice, real interaction, and expert feedback—things YouTube alone can’t provide. A structured spoken Arabic course will give you the tools and confidence to communicate naturally in real-life situations.

How long will it take me to learn the Quran?

There is no fixed timeline. Some complete their learning in a few years, others take more time. The result depends on your effort, your consistency, and the method you follow.

What matters is not how fast you go, but how correctly you learn. One verse recited properly is better than several memorized with mistakes.

Your progress will depend on:

  • How regularly you practice. Progress comes through repetition and discipline.
  • Whether you can read Arabic fluently. Reading with ease reduces hesitation and improves retention.
  • Whether you are learning with a teacher. Proper guidance avoids wasted time and prevents mistakes from becoming habits.

Focus on the next verse, not the final goal. Steady, corrected learning leads to long-term mastery.

The Quran was revealed over 23 years. You are not expected to rush, only to remain firm in your effort and sincere in seeking reward from Allah ﷻ.

How to learn Arabic professionally?

Mastering Arabic at a professional level requires precision, fluency, and a deep understanding of both linguistic and cultural nuances. Whether for work, academic pursuits, or formal communication, a structured learning approach is essential.

📌 Build a strong foundation – Before diving into specialized vocabulary, a solid grasp of Modern Standard Arabic (Fusha) is crucial. It’s the language used in formal and professional settings.

📌 Develop the four key skillsListening, speaking, reading, and writing are all necessary to communicate with confidence and accuracy.

📌 Expand your industry-specific vocabulary – Different fields—law, business, medicine, journalism—all have specialized terminology. Learning the right expressions ensures effective communication.

📌 Practice with authentic materials – Reading news articles, reviewing business reports, and studying formal documents help reinforce real-world application.

📌 Learn with expert guidance – A native-speaking instructor provides essential corrections, pronunciation refinement, and insight into professional etiquette in Arabic-speaking environments.

Professional Arabic isn’t something you pick up casually. It demands a structured, immersive approach tailored to your specific field and communication goals.

How to read the Quran for beginners?

Reading the Quran begins with the foundation: learning the Arabic alphabet and mastering the correct pronunciation of each letter.

Every letter in the Quran has a unique sound and articulation point that must be respected to preserve the meaning of the words of Allah ﷻ.

Once the letters are known, the next step is to join them into words and apply the basic rules of Tajweed.

These rules are not decorative, they ensure that the Quran is recited as it was revealed, with clarity and accuracy.

Listening to recitations while following along in a Mushaf can help develop rhythm and fluency.

But reading the Quran is not like reading any other book. It requires precision, and learning alone increases the risk of forming mistakes that become difficult to correct later.

That is why beginning with the guidance of a qualified teacher is the safest and most effective path.

At Al Kunuz, we help you start reading the Book of Allah ﷻ step by step, with structure, correction, and confidence.

What is Level 3 Arabic course?

At this stage, learning takes on a new depth. Students solidify their grasp of essential grammar structures, refine their use of demonstratives, pronouns, and key constructions such as the passive voice. This level also signifies a major vocabulary boost, allowing for more fluid and natural conversations. The goal? Achieve greater autonomy and confidence in expressing yourself accurately in Arabic.

What is the best way to learn Arabic?

The best way to learn Arabic depends on your goals, but a structured and immersive approach is key to making steady progress.

Start with a strong foundation. Mastering the Arabic alphabet and basic sentence structures creates a solid base for further learning.

Prioritize listening and speaking. Engaging with native speakers and exposing yourself to the language daily accelerates comprehension and fluency.

Embrace a progressive learning method. Focusing on real communication rather than just grammar makes learning more natural and enjoyable.

Practice consistently. Small, daily efforts are far more effective than occasional intensive study sessions.

Arabic is a language that unfolds with time and practice. The more you engage with it, the more intuitive it becomes.

How do I measure my progress in spoken Arabic?

Measuring your progress in spoken Arabic depends on your goals and consistency in practicing!

  • If fluency is your goal, ask yourself if you can hold a simple conversation without hesitation. Can you respond naturally without mentally translating?
  • Listening comprehension is a great indicator. Do you understand Arabic conversations better without needing word-for-word translation?
  • Expressing yourself with ease. Can you form full sentences instead of relying on single words?
  • Interacting with native speakers. The more comfortable you feel engaging with Arabic speakers, the more progress you’ve made.

The key is to track real, measurable improvements rather than aiming for perfection. Spoken Arabic improves through regular practice and real-life exposure!

Can I learn spoken Arabic for free?

Yes, many free resources—videos, mobile apps, and YouTube channels—can help you get familiar with the basics of spoken Arabic. They introduce common phrases and expose you to the sounds of the language.

But achieving real fluency requires more than passive learning. Without guided practice or corrections, pronunciation mistakes become ingrained, making it harder to progress. Speaking a language is a skill—it must be practiced regularly in an immersive and structured way.

That’s why we’ve developed spoken Arabic courses designed to help you speak confidently from day one. Through expert-led sessions and immersive techniques, you’ll gain the fluency and confidence needed to express yourself naturally.

Can you learn Arabic from YouTube?

YouTube provides a useful introduction to Arabic, but it has serious limitations when it comes to structured learning.

Lack of progression – Random videos don’t follow a clear learning path.

No personalized feedback – Without corrections, pronunciation mistakes become ingrained.

Passive learning trap – Watching doesn’t equal practicing. Real progress requires speaking, writing, and structured exercises.

How to use YouTube effectively? Complement structured courses with exposure to Arabic through videos, but rely on a guided program to ensure real progress.

Arabic isn’t just about input—it’s about practice. A solid learning system is essential to turn knowledge into skill.

In what language do the courses take place?

The courses take place exclusively in literary Arabic.

Although the aim of the courses is not to learn the Arabic language, studying the sciences of the Quran in Arabic can only be beneficial for you.

None. The program is aimed at all levels, from the very beginner (without any knowledge) to the most advanced learners.

Hardware requirements:

— A computer or tablet with a screen large enough to take the courses

— A keyboard with Arabic letters, stickers to add them to your existing keyboard or, failing that, the use of a virtual keyboard on your computer or via a website (although less comfortable).

Other important requirements:

— Be ready to fully invest in your success (attending classes, doing your homework, reviewing your lessons, etc.). We are not looking for the perfect student, but it is crucial to implement the necessary means to make the most of your investment (time and money).

— Commit yourself for the entire duration of the session, i.e. 13 weeks. The number of seats is limited (5 students per group), if you are not ready to finish the session, do not start it.

— Be 16 years of age or older

What level will you reach after completing the training?

📈 Our program, developed in 12 levels, extends from learning to read up to a C2 level of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (either the end of high school or the beginning of university). You can consult the details by clicking here.

📚 This program is based on several recognized books in the field of Arabic, as well as on the skills and experience of our team (composed of members with degrees in Arabic and pedagogy). It covers all 4 language skills (listening, reading, speaking and writing) and comes in levels ranging from -1 (beginner) to 10. A level is generally studied over 35 to 40 hours.

It is important to note that the level achieved depends on each student, their abilities, their previous background and the work done.

📚 Starting at the beginner level (-1), you will be able to communicate with your teacher correctly at level 2 or 3 and begin to understand various texts such as newspapers. At level 4, you will be able to understand religious courses and Friday sermons, although you will always be confronted with new vocabulary. Acquiring the Arabic language is a constant search, but you will nevertheless understand the overall meaning of a speech.

🕌 Regarding the comprehension of the Quran, you will reach level 6. You will also have an easier time looking for the origin of a word and finding its translation.

️🗣️ As for oral expression, it starts at the beginner level with simple dialogues. Since the courses are exclusively in Arabic, you will have to communicate with the teacher in this language. Starting at level 2, you will be able to have a proper discussion.

In the end, after all 12 levels, you will reach a level of grammar equivalent to that of Alfiya Ibn Malik** and will master all the grammatical rules in detail. You will be able to understand and converse with Arabic speakers, to read a book without vowels with ease and without errors, and to understand religious courses and more complex texts (such as poetry).

Learning this magnificent language, the language of the Quran, will allow you to understand our religion without going through another language and open up new professional opportunities in the Arabic-speaking world.

Our aim is that at the end of the levels, with the help of Allah, you will be able to read, write and speak Arabic with ease.

In short, our program aims to offer you the necessary tools to master the Arabic language and communicate with ease and confidence in this language.

With the help of Allah, we will support you throughout this exciting and rewarding learning journey.

**Alfiya Ibn Malik is a famous poem by Ibn Malik (peace be upon him) and an essential work for studying grammar (An-Nahu) and morphology. It is very used by grammarians and scientists in general, because it allows, for those who study it and those who memorize it, to have all the rules of grammar and “conjugation” (sarf) in the form of a poem.

How do you make the payment?

Payment is made by credit card (managed by our payment partner Stripe). Payment is secure.

What equipment is required?

A stable internet connection, a computer, a headset, a microphone and a keyboard in Arabic.

Regarding the Arabic keyboard, you can instead buy Arabic letter stickers to stick on your keyboard (for sale online).

Our classes are compatible with all media: Windows, Mac as well as tablets and smartphones, however for more comfort we recommend that you study on a computer (to have a keyboard at your disposal).

Can I learn Arabic in 3 months?

While three months is enough to make noticeable progress, reaching fluency in such a short time remains a challenge. Consistency, structured learning, and immersive practice are essential to making the most of this period.

A clear and structured approach makes all the difference. Enrolling in an Arabic language course provides a step-by-step method to build a solid foundation.

Focusing on spoken Arabic helps accelerate fluency. Our Learn spoken Arabic program is designed to develop conversational skills, ensuring you can express yourself naturally and with confidence.

For younger learners, early exposure is key. Our Arabic language course for children offers an engaging and interactive way to build a strong linguistic foundation.

Three months can be a great starting point. The more consistent and engaged you are, the greater your progress will be.

What group speaks Arabic?

Arabic is spoken by a vast and diverse community across the world. It is the official language of over 25 countries, spanning the Middle East, North Africa, and parts of the Horn of Africa. With more than 400 million speakers, Arabic is one of the most widely spoken languages globally.

It is also the liturgical language of Islam, uniting millions of Muslims who recite and study the Quran in Arabic. Beyond religious and geographical boundaries, Arabic is used in diplomacy, international business, and academic research.

Whether for cultural exploration, professional growth, or religious understanding, learning Arabic connects you to a rich and dynamic global community.

How can I learn spoken Arabic online?

Our programs adapt to your schedule and learning style. Whether you prefer an interactive group course or one-on-one instruction, each lesson brings you closer to fluency. With real-time corrections and engaging exercises, you’ll build confidence and speak Arabic naturally.

That’s exactly what our Takallam! workshops offer: 100% practical sessions where you speak Arabic from day one, without fear of making mistakes.

How do I know if I need a dialect or Modern Standard Arabic?

It all depends on how far you want to go with Arabic!

  • If you want to communicate across the Arab world, understand classical texts, and build a strong foundation, Modern Standard Arabic (MSA) is essential. It’s the form of Arabic that connects speakers from different countries and ensures you’re understood everywhere.
  • Dialects, on the other hand, are specific to regions and vary greatly from one country to another. While they are useful for casual conversations, they can limit your ability to communicate outside a particular area.

If you’re unsure, starting with MSA is the smartest choice. It provides a strong foundation and the flexibility to adapt your skills across different contexts. It’s the best long-term investment for mastering the language!

What is the best way to start learning Arabic as a beginner?

When starting Arabic, everything feels new, a different alphabet, unfamiliar sounds, a unique structure, but don’t let that intimidate you. Arabic is learned step by step with a clear and structured approach.

Master the alphabet first – You can’t move forward without recognizing and pronouncing letters correctly.

Learn in context – Instead of memorizing isolated rules, focus on listening, reading, and practicing from day one.

Limit constant translation – The sooner you immerse yourself in the language, the more naturally your brain adapts.

Well-designed programs help structure learning from the start. Some focus on full mastery of Arabic Literary, while others offer personalized support to help you progress at your own pace.

The key: A proven method, consistent follow-up, and a learning path tailored to your needs.

However, it is essential that the audio material be authentic, that is, from people whose mother tongue is native.” (Journal of Cognitive Neuroscience — M.I.T).

To effectively learn the Arabic language, it is therefore crucial to immerse yourself in this language in the company of a native speaker.

Am I going to speak fluently after a level?

Obviously you don't speak Arabic fluently after only one level of the Takallam program!

You will become more fluent level after level bi idhnillah.

Can I study this program as a private course?

The “Al Kaamil” program can be studied in private lessons, according to your preferences and needs.

However, it is important to take into account the differences between private lessons and group lessons before making your choice.

In addition, our teachers are trained to teach Arabic speakers.

How can I learn spoken Arabic online?
